Chinese Popular Music


As with most things about China, Americans are largely ignorant of Chinese music. While this course does not provide enough time to give you any comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese music scene, it is intended to give you a brief overview. Fortunately, if you're interested in finding out more, the Internet provides many sources to do so.

Some contemporary popular artists use traditional Chinese instruments in their recordings to varying extent.

A majority of these singers are also actors and actressesAaron Kwok, Leon Lai, and Andy Lau. The last four guys on the list were considered "the four heavenly kings" replaced by new guys.
